We generally do not recommend to block the Play Store. Andoff can protect you against app installations while the Play Store is not blocked. The main concern against blocking the Play Store is that you will no longer be supplied with app updates, which can become a serious security issue. The only reason we consider as viable for blocking the Play Store is if the content displayed withing the Play Store is problematic to you. In this case you should still once in a while unblock the Play Store to allow the installation of updates and look for alternative app stores, e.g. F-Droid, that can supply you with updates for at least some of your apps.
